Weekly Mind Sweep

Chickbook Creative / Weekly Mind Sweep

  1. Contemplation- Be consistent - Pro-tip, use systems that work for you!

  2. Citation of the week - Fall? Get up and dust yourself off. You’ve got this.

  3. Conversation consideration - What is important and what can wait? The CHOICE is YOURS.

  4. Check Your Reality - ask yourself hard questions, and tell Jamie what you think!

Now, let’s sweep the brain…

1. Another word for consistent? Reliable.

By showing up consistently, you build trust and confidence. Consistency builds momentum, which leads to progress. We start to receive feedback from ourselves and others to help us learn and grow from showing up consistently. #trusttheprocess

5 things that can help you show up consistently:

  1. Set reminders: We can use several tools, from written notes to mobile devices. (Pro-tip, use what works best for YOU!). Sometimes we can forget that we are building a new habit, so place the reminder in places you can’t miss them!

  2. Have a plan: Knowing what you want to achieve and having an action plan with steps increases your chance of achieving your goals!

  3. Reward yourself: Our brains love a good reward for a job well done!

  4. Mistakes mean information: Despite our best planning, we can make mistakes, and what we want to happen doesn’t. [Spoiler Alert It’s OK.] Don’t let that speed bump turn into a guardrail, or even worse, a stop sign. Discern where the issue lies. Is that a time that you CAN commit? Do you need to adjust? Or, do you need to remind yourself of your commitment and pick up where you left off? ( Just. Keep. Swimming)

  5. Be patient with results: Repetition is the key here, and most goals will not see results overnight. (Even though some things may make us feel that way. Feelings are not facts!)

2. Citation.

To see progress, we cannot show up part of the time. We have to show up all of the time. We’re human. We forget or slip up. It’s those who get back up and dust themselves off that rise!

3. Conversation Consideration.

David Allen, Author of Getting Things Done (One of my FAVORITE BOOKS., I know, shocking)

  1. Prioritizing your time and tasks are important. You have a daily CHOICE in how you spend your time and energy.

    1. What is important and what can wait?

    2. Do you have a system for incoming stimuli?

  2. We can do anything we put our mind to, but we will fail if we attempt to do it all. #burnout

4. Check your reality.

Do you know where you can improve showing up consistently?

For yourself, a partner, a family member, or your busines
