01/04/2022 Weekly Mind Sweep

For almost a year, social media has been a collection of things I read, hear in my travels, experiences in my life, and thoughts that I ponder. As I begin 2022, I’d like to share more meaningful details about those experiences for those craving to learn more about the passion behind Chickbook Creative.

Topics:

  1. Contemplation: Resolution or anti-resolution

  2. Citation of the Week: “Nothing in the external world causes our fear, guilt, shame or hurt. It’s all internal. This realization liberates us from being a victim and empowers us to claim responsibility for our state of mind.” Buddhist Boot Camp - Timber Hawkeye.

  3. Conversation Consideration: Build a mosaic community.

  4. Check Your Reality: (Ask yourself hard questions.) Are you in a healed enough place for someone else’s feelings?

Now, let’s sweep the brain…

Contemplation: Resolutions can be significant in theory. But, actual honest change doesn’t happen with by saying:

“Oh hi, January 1st and my brand new planner! This year, I am going to “fill in your badass audacious goal words here.”

While it is true that intention IS the first step to grow, change, and get things done, ask yourself:

  • what is the NEXT STEP?

  • What is the following ACTION you will take to MAKE IT HAPPEN?

That step is where the magic happens. Where traction begins to form a new habit.

Over the past year, I’ve learned that as women entrepreneurs, we tend to set that “Big Audacious Goal” (and feel pretty badass saying it to ourselves), but just by saying “I’m a badass”, doesn’t MAKE me one. I have to go BE BADASS.

We have to hold the space to:

  • break that badass thing down into actionable steps.

  • schedule time to do that work.

  • check in on our intentions, values, and goals along the way.

  • make sure that distraction hasn’t crept in and stolen our time.

We have to do the work. (no hacks here)

Are you ready to get to work?

Citation of the week: “Nothing in the external world causes our fear guilt shame or hurt. It’s all internal. This realization liberates us from being a victim and empowers us to claim responsibility for our state of mind.” Buddhist Boot Camp - Timber Hawkeye -Episode 128 Trauma Response - 5 minute listen

Not easy work. To achieve this will require us to sit in uncomfortable places in uncomfortable thoughts and work through what we tell ourselves to be true. Most often, our thoughts are not true. You have to discern what is.

Do you blame yourself, others, or your circumstances instead?

Are you able to take pause and realize when you are blaming others instead of taking accountability?

I’ve been working through a training program with Positive Intelligence (PQ) that has been life-changing for my mental fitness.

Conversation consideration: Build a mosaic community.

Each month I have the honor of spending a full day with my Leadership MetroWest Crew (2022 - Best Class Ever.) We are making time for conversation in around diversity, equity and inclusion.

During December’s meeting my colleague Brandon P. said a statement that resonated with me.

“Make sure you build a community that is a mosaic”

As I sat to reflect on this I realized how important that is to me. All shapes, sizes, ages, and colors make the most beautiful works of art. That is also true in our personal and professional community as well.

Take a moment yourself to reflect on your community.

Is it diverse, or are you surrounded by people so similar to yourself?

Are you being challenged with a different point of view?

Check Your Reality: Are you in a healed enough place for someone else’s feelings?

Write about it for yourself. or hit reply and let’s chat about it!

Have thoughts?

Jamie Chapman

Oh, Hi! I’m Jamie Chapman

Self-proclaimed brain geek, relationship builder, and business consultant who helps heart-centered entrepreneurs and small businesses execute their big ideas.

I have always been a curious person who thrives on helping others succeed.

Finding solutions is what I do.

When my twin boys were diagnosed with ADHD in elementary school, I had to learn how to navigate a school system that wasn’t built for neurodiverse individuals. By helping my boys find ways to succeed in these spaces, I realized the importance of shining a light on the gifts we bring to the world.

In a society that tries to “fit a round peg into a square hole,” I am here to support entrepreneurs and small business owners who want to take a different path to success.

While supporting small businesses in various industries, I have a special place in my heart for neurodiverse entrepreneurs and ADHD business owners.

Relationships and a holistic, human view of your business needs is something I value.

I meet you where you’re at and support you in getting where you want to go.

With a multifaceted approach to problem-solving, and extensive knowledge of executive functioning, habit formation, and the neurodiverse and ADHD entrepreneur’s mind, I support small business owners to thrive and feel proud of what they’re building.

My background is in manufacturing and business operations. I use my decades of experience with developing systems and processes to make your business operations smoother and more efficient.

As a perspective integrator and big-picture thinker, I want to help you execute your vision, spot inefficiencies, and find effective ways to grow your business.

Think of me as your strategic C.O.O. and partner in business success and growth.

Whether it’s 1:1 Consulting, MindSweep Mapping, or joining our Chickbook Creative community of business owners, I support idea generators in cultivating clarity and taking action to pursue their best ideas.

My purpose is to illuminate the gifts business owners and entrepreneurs bring to the world. I can’t wait to meet you and get started.

Time with me; Priceless.
