Weekly Mind Sweep

Chickbook Creative / Weekly Mind Sweep

  1. Contemplation- I SAY I want to do things, but I’m not doing them.

  2. Citation of the week - Get on the stage, already!

  3. Conversation consideration - Are you doing the Hokey Pokey?

  4. Check Your Reality - ask yourself hard questions, and tell Jamie what you think!

Now, let’s sweep the brain…

1. Do you SAY you want to do things? Or do you take ACTION and do them?

Sometimes the struggle is COMMITTING to the profitable idea, MAKING the time to execute, or you just do not know where to BEGIN.

Whatever the reason, let’s figure out which one it is, change those habits and start getting it done.

An accountability partner who understands you and your business goals will keep you motivated during challenging times, create an environment of celebrating wins, and provide a partner through difficult decisions.

You DO NOT have to do it alone. (psst, you’ll be more successful if you don’t!)

2. Citation.

He makes stepping on the stage seem easy.

We all know it isn’t. It’s hard, vulnerable, and feels risky.

As entrepreneurs, we don’t always know where to begin. Want to know a secret? Once you START, your brain sees that it is possible.

That you didn’t "-insert a disastrous outcome here or any of those awful visuals your brain constructed to keep you from moving forward.

Once you keep showing your brain what is possible, you start to rewire those neural pathways, and then the sky is the limit!

3. Conversation Consideration.

Do you pause in the course of making a decision?

Hesitation is fear. Fear of making the wrong decision. Fear of failure. Or even the consequences of success. (wait, wha?!)

Here are some ways to be all-in:

  1. Understand which one it is. Wrong decision? Fear of Failure? The Consequence of Success?

  2. Name it. Say it out loud, write it down, and talk to friends or colleagues.

  3. Practice this: think, then act. (it’s OK to start small!)

  4. Give yourself a timeline or deadline. - Again, say it aloud, write it down, tell a friend.

  5. Commit to making a decision - Without intention, it just won’t happen. Because it doesn’t have to.

  6. Try new things. Start with a minor thing that you can control. Prove to yourself that you can.

  7. Try confidence over fear. Even if the first few times you doubt yourself. Do it anyway.

  8. Celebrate. High-Five yourself, a friend, or a colleague, then relish your accomplishments!

4. Check your reality.

When have you felt sure about a decision you made in the past week? What strengths did you notice?

Jamie Chapman

Oh, Hi! I’m Jamie Chapman

I’m a Small Business Consultant who recognizes you might do things a little bit differently, and I’m here for it. I help support small businesses in a wide variety of industries and have a special place in my heart for neurodiverse entrepreneurs and ADHD business owners.

If you find that you’re often dancing to the beat of a pen tapping against your desk instead of your own drum, I see you and get you. And I want you to keep on dancing.

I value getting to know the whole person as a business owner and taking a holistic, human view of their needs. I meet you where you’re at and support you in getting to where you want to go.

I love watching small business owners thrive and feel proud of what they’re building.

Founder and Owner of Chickbook Creative, I’ve gained years of career experience in systems, processes, accountability, leadership, and project management. I bring a multi-faceted approach to problem-solving and extensive knowledge of executive functioning, habit formation, and the neurodiverse and ADHD entrepreneur’s mind.

I see and understand the ADHD entrepreneur brain at work, and I'm passionate about supporting neurodivergent business owners in a way that lets them shine their light and bring their gifts to the world for all to see (and pay them for!).
