Contemplation - Responsibility - being responsible is a commitment. Are you willing to learn?
Citation of the week - “The value of writing it out is knowing where to start.” Jamie Chapman
Conversation Consideration - When willpower runs out, we revert to our habits. What are yours?
Check Your Reality - ask yourself hard questions. Be stronger than your excuses. Behind the success is hard work, not excuses.
Now, let’s sweep the brain…
Being responsible is a commitment. You must be willing to learn, improve and strive to be the best version of yourself.
5 ways to be more responsible.
Be accountable for yourself - own mistakes and admit when you are wrong.
Be punctual. Period. Avoid being rushed. That is where mistakes happen. Less stress = more productive.
Be organized. Use a system that works for you—written, digital or visual.
Quit procrastinating - when you save things for the last minute, you do not execute them to your fullest potential. Break the task down into smaller, manageable action steps. If you need support here, it’s where I thrive!
Be dependable - consistent. We are not looking for perfection here. Just show up when expected. And if you can’t - communicate! Consider how your actions affect others.
2. Citation.
I’m speaking at Christine McShane’s group Small Business Networking for Busy People this Thursday, March 3rd AND Thursday March 10th, (<sign up links) about 3 Habit’s to Get It Done. Will I see you there?
Sneak peek - one of my tips is to write things down. Working outside of your head can provide better results. Doing this will lower the metal load on your working memory and supports executive functioning! Join us to learn more!
3. Conversation Consideration.
When willpower runs out, we revert to our habits. What are yours?
We lose willpower because we don’t think about it. When you think about your willpower, pay attention to it, and respect it, you will prioritize what matters most.
Are you utilizing your willpower on your essential tasks at the vital time?
4. Check your reality.
Behind the success is hard work, not excuses. It’s time to stop expecting massive results when you haven’t done the job to achieve those results.
Set a clear and realistic goal. Without goals, you are directionless. You’re basically navigating through life without a plan of where you’d like to go. A Harvard Business study revealed that people who set goals are 10x more likely to succeed.
Set clear defined and manageable tasks daily that work towards that goal.
Take responsibility for your mindset. If you find yourself easily annoyed or down on yourself, its time to rid yourself of negative emotions that may have turned into negative habits. You have the power to decide. People who achieve their goals are optimistic about their future. They find ways to make the most of all situations even the ones they don’t want to be in.
