  1. Contemplation: Productive . We've become really good at prioritizing things like a zero inbox rather than investing time working on a profitable idea.

  2. Citation of the Week: "Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort." - Paul J. Meyer.

  3. Conversation Consideration: The power of taking action. Execution is the secret ingredient.

  4. Check Your Reality: (Ask yourself hard questions.) Are you keeping busy checking things off your to-do list, or are you choosing what to do, how to do it, and building a business?

Now, let’s sweep the brain…

Productive. We've become really good at prioritizing things like a zero inbox rather than investing time working on a profitable idea.

  1. Contemplation: Productive

We procrastinate because we dread the task or don't know how to do it. Another obstacle can be avoiding the job with meaningless tasks that make you feel more comfortable or familiar.

We've become really good at prioritizing things like a zero inbox rather than investing time working on a profitable idea.

The solution is to focus on the priories BEFORE you start working. What to level up? Start every day this way.

    1. Take time each morning to set your three priorities for the day. What is most essential for you to accomplish to know you've spent your time well?

    2. What do you need to do? Not, what do you feel like doing. Write down a question that will guide your actions today, "What's important for me to do?" Place it somewhere visible while you work.

    3. Focus Your Attention Outward. Shift attention away from yourself and onto the world around you. Be in the moment. Feel the ridges on your fingertips as you rub them together. Notice the temperature of the air as you breathe in through your nose. Notice the air temperature again as you breathe out through your nose. These mindful moments take you away from your thoughts (which are not facts, btw) and help ground you in the moment.

Need support? You do not have to do this alone.

Take action. "Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort." - Paul J. Meyer.

2. Citation.

Truly productive people don't focus on doing more things; this is the opposite of productivity. So if you want to be effective, you've got to make a point to do fewer things.

Here are some actionable ways to be more productive: Pick a tool to try for 30 days and see if they are right for your toolbox:

  1. One-touch rule: complete a task or project in one sitting from start to finish instead of starting and stopping and bouncing between different projects. (Your email box and social media notifications are not going anywhere.)

  2. Write it down: If an idea or distracting thought comes to mind, write it down and get back to what your focus is. Doing this lightens your cognitive load and puts the idea in a safe place to get back on the track of action.

  3. Set small goals: Break large projects down into small actionable steps. This way, you can celebrate small victories as you chip away at the larger project, which keeps motivation at its peak. (This is my zone of genius if you would support!)

  4. Plan ahead: Start each day (before electronics) to map out your day. Know the top 3 things you MUST accomplish. Think about when you will do them (when your brain is at its best), what might get in your way (and what you will do to overcome them), and write out a list of actionable tasks towards the goal.

  5. Hard stuff first: ( i.e., eat the frog.) Getting the most dreadful task done firsts makes your brain believe everything else is cake (or brownies if you like them better!)

Need support?

The power of taking action. Execution is the secret ingredient.

3. Conversation Consideration.

You can only achieve goals by taking action.

Execution is the secret ingredient.

Lots of people could have the same idea, but in the end, taking action and how well you execute will be the determining factor of success.

"But, Jamie, I don't even know where to start!"

Knowing the first step can be the most paralyzing part. Doubt, fear, overthinking and uncertainty keep entrepreneurs from taking action.

The ONLY way is to take the first step.

Take action.

And, if this thought makes you break out in hives. I'm your chick.

Are you keeping busy checking things off your to-do list, or are you choosing what to do, how to do it, and building a business?

4. Check your reality.

Are you keeping busy checking things off your to-do list, or are you choosing what to do, how to do it, and building a business?

Having a lot of things on your to-do list doesn't mean you are living a meaningful life.

  • Are you spending the time on the meaningful tasks rowing in the same direction as your goals?

  • Are you responding appropriately to the needs of a given situation?

  • Are you clear about your actions and the steps you need to take to achieve them?

If you struggle to know what action to take, I can help.

Oh, Hi! I’m Jamie Chapman

I’m a Small Business Consultant who recognizes you might do things a little bit differently, and I’m here for it. I help support small businesses in a wide variety of industries and have a special place in my heart for neurodiverse entrepreneurs and ADHD business owners.

If you find that you’re often dancing to the beat of a pen tapping against your desk instead of your own drum, I see you and get you. And I want you to keep on dancing.

I value getting to know the whole person as a business owner and taking a holistic, human view of their needs. I meet you where you’re at and support you in getting to where you want to go.

I love watching small business owners thrive and feel proud of what they’re building.

Founder and Owner of Chickbook Creative, I’ve gained years of career experience in systems, processes, accountability, leadership, and project management. I bring a multi-faceted approach to problem-solving and extensive knowledge of executive functioning, habit formation, and the neurodiverse and ADHD entrepreneur’s mind.

I see and understand the ADHD entrepreneur brain at work, and I'm passionate about supporting neurodivergent business owners in a way that lets them shine their light and bring their gifts to the world for all to see (and pay them for!).
