Welcome to the inside of my brain and the thought process that curates conversation.
As part of my role at Leadership MetroWest [1], a not-for-profit organization, I've had the privilege of participating in discussions centered on anti-racism, equity, and inclusion.
Much like Curated Conversations [2], I am engulfed in discussions that bring a wide range of perspectives.
Within these conversations, individuals share vulnerable experiences, expanding my understanding of the challenges and possibilities we face as a society.
These insights broaden my view of the challenges and possibilities of our human experience.
I live for these moments.
While I've encountered my own challenges, participating in these discussions broadens my perspective [3] of how beautifully unique we are as individuals experiencing humankind within the society we've created.
With each opportunity to be at these tables, I am in awe of the possibilities we all hold to make change right where we are—for ourselves, our communities, and the world.
My passion for understanding the brain and its mysteries drives my curiosity and fascination to grow my understanding, blending the brain's desire to understand the "why" and "how" things happen within the beauty of our universe playing out in all its glory.
From my research and study, I've learned how biased our brains naturally are and began to ponder the use of the word unbias.
Is it humanly possible to be unbiased?
When I applied this thought process to entrepreneurship, I could not ignore the presence of exclusionary practices masquerading as inclusion.
I noticed how marketing can be used to sell a facade of inclusion.
I witnessed groups using words of inclusion, yet their actions speak of exclusion. This realization ignited a deeper exploration into the authenticity of inclusivity in our actions and marketing efforts.
I've found a deeper desire to explore who I want to be and how I wish to contribute to a more inclusive world.
I'd be honored if you'd join me in discussing inclusivity for May.
Together, we can challenge ourselves to examine the role of the brain in shaping our perceptions and behaviors and delve into the concept of cognitive diversity.
Don't tempt me with a good time.
Let's embark on conversations that initiate a ripple effect of positive change in our entrepreneurial endeavors and the world around us.
