Trust is built. Trust is earned.

It takes time and patience.

We are social beings and thrive from experiencing meaningful connections with other humans. When we connect with others, we fill safe, fulfilled, and happier. It's in our DNA to trust. It's how we've survived as humans for as long as we have. It's no different in business.

People do business with people.

At its core, trust is built from the following:

  • Collaboration - working together towards a common goal with similar values.

  • Clarity - clear, open communication and understanding.

  • Integrity - being honest and having morals. What's right over what's easy.

  • Consistency - sustained effort in showing up for yourself and others. This builds reliability.

  • Competency - ability to do something effectively and efficiently. Do you do what you say you will do for yourself and others?

  • Accountability - taking responsibility and allowing others to do the same.

(yes, I secretly wish they were all "C" letters)

Trust is fluid, and maintaining it takes effort AND action.

Trust is imperative to deeply connect with ourselves, our customers, and our employees. The absence of it leads to disconnectedness, micromanagement, miscommunication, and poor business performance.

It impacts your bottom line.

Have you ever been micromanaged by an employer or customer? It's frustrating. Even when you've met the criteria for being a consistent, capable person, you are not trusted to make decisions, execute from your zone of genius, and are constantly looking over your shoulder. It slowly eats away at your confidence, and you lose motivation.

It shows a lack of trust and comes from a place of fear.

To reach a healthy level of trust with others, we must begin our journey by looking inside ourselves. We need to trust our instincts, intuition, and sense of self while building confidence, boundaries, and self-competence. No pill, hack, or shortcut can fix this for you. Deep personal work is required here. It is impossible to trust others without first trusting yourself. Like most things, it's a practice.

Know yourself. Trust starts with you.

  • Slow down - The world can make us feel like we are in a race. We're not. We are on a journey of entrepreneurship. The people in the fast lane are fake.

  • Connect - With yourself first by sitting in silence and being alone. Then, find your tribe—people with similar hearts and values. Those business card pokers are not your people.

  • Be Present - Truly. Be in person when you can. When online, engage in a way that you feel comfortable. Stop signing up for things that don’t interest you.

  • Courage -1% step outside your comfort zone matters. It builds trust in yourself that you CAN. Say no.

  • Be Genuine - You are more comfortable when you show up as yourself, and your inner light shines brighter for others to see. That is who they showed up for. Humans are not perfect, period.

I'd love to learn more about you and reflect the best back to you. I can see your potential and know you have a gift to give the world with the business you are running.

I want women like you running the world. I'm here to support you and make that happen.

Jamie Chapman

Oh, Hi! I’m Jamie Chapman

I’m a Small Business Consultant who recognizes you might do things a little bit differently, and I’m here for it. I help support small businesses in a wide variety of industries and have a special place in my heart for neurodiverse entrepreneurs and ADHD business owners.

If you find that you’re often dancing to the beat of a pen tapping against your desk instead of your own drum, I see you and get you. And I want you to keep on dancing.

I value getting to know the whole person as a business owner and taking a holistic, human view of their needs. I meet you where you’re at and support you in getting to where you want to go.

I love watching small business owners thrive and feel proud of what they’re building.

Founder and Owner of Chickbook Creative, I’ve gained years of career experience in systems, processes, accountability, leadership, and project management. I bring a multi-faceted approach to problem-solving and extensive knowledge of executive functioning, habit formation, and the neurodiverse and ADHD entrepreneur’s mind.

I see and understand the ADHD entrepreneur brain at work, and I'm passionate about supporting neurodivergent business owners in a way that lets them shine their light and bring their gifts to the world for all to see (and pay them for!).
