Please join me, Susan Harvey & Catherine Liang to discuss:
CLARITY & CONFIDENCE: TAKING AGENCY TO CREATE YOUR LEADERSHIP STYLE
DESCRIPTION: You are the only one who knows whatâs most important for you, and what unique value you can bring to the world. But it can be hard to access your own internal wisdom in this fast-paced, social-media-driven, expectations-laden culture. Join us to hear three stories from women whoâve carved out their own paths and developed tools to build clarity around leadership so you can do the same.
KEY TAKEAWAYS:
There are different ways to be a leader. The key is to find the style thatâs right for you.
You have more choices than you think. Claim your agency and shape your own path.
Your own instincts are your best guides â though you may need a compass. Find the right support to be the best leader in your own life.
Curated Conversation: September topic; Choice.
Now, letâs sweep the brainâŠ
We are continuing our conversation about CHOICE this week, adding how it pertains to your business.
How you spend your time, money, attention, and energy directly affects your business.
Do you monitor how you spend these valuable resources?
Have you allocated the space towards your business development, marketing, administrative, and networking on top of meeting the needs of your clients?
Have you considered what's next for your business? Are you satisfied with how business is going? Is it time to grow?
We don't wake up one day and put a profitable product or service that makes us enough money to retire out into the world. Each opportunity has a messy first draft and a very messy middle.
Add in some foibles, bad decisions, and wrong turns, and welcome to running your own business!
It's common for entrepreneurs to be responsible for all departments and decisions - even if they outsource daily tasks. This can lead to decision fatigue (yep, thatâs a read thing), and your energy management will be key.
Foundations in process, consistent action, and the choices we make determine our success. No pressure.
Let's talk specifically about the powerful ones I touched on last week. Again, I want women like you running the world. I'm here to make it happen.
But, for this kind of change, we must make powerful choices with our time, money, attention, and energy.
Time - The one thing you can't make more of, yet you have the most control over. It's your most valuable resource. There are several tools out there to support you in managing it. I find it a very personal choice, and there is no one-size-fits-all. Instead, I blend a few systems to work best with my brain. When you find the method that works for you, the best thing you can do is use it. Regularly. Is doing your own <<insert your least favorite administrative task here>> the highest best use of your time? Could you be meeting with a customer or client working in your zone of genius and making enough money to outsource this AND make a profit?
Money - You choose how much you make and when you make it. You also decide how you spend it. Do you invest in yourself and your business regularly? When was the last time you reviewed your business or personal expenses? Are there places to streamline or invest more? The choice is truly yours. Again, is doing your own <<insert your least favorite administrative task here>> the highest best use of your time? Could you be meeting with a customer or client working in your zone of genius and making enough money to outsource this AND make a profit?
Attention - When was the last time you reviewed what you were giving your attention to? Like time, you control this, but the outside world doesn't make it easy. What has your attention day-to-day? Is it what you would like to achieve in business? Think about how you've spent the last hour of your time. Was it taking action toward a personal or business goal? Why, or why not? Was it avoiding <<insert your least favorite administrative task here>>?
Energy - Let's sit down and take a breath before we tackle this one. In - out - in - out. No, really do it. While you can renew this precious resource, it begins with the consciousness that it exists, awareness of when you need to take pause, and intentional practice. Every day. What will the outcome be if you are trying to achieve a goal and lack the energy? How are you spending your time when your energy is at its best? Are you spending all of your best energy doing <<insert your least favorite administrative task here>>?
