Week 43: Contemplation; Community

Now, let’s sweep the brain

Early on, I knew I had not found "the one" community for me. Instead, I felt like a round peg in a square hole.

I was a chameleon in high school. I could feel comfortable sitting with my marching band mates, field hockey friends, or the academic types. However, in reflection, I realized I was a bridge connecting these groups—selecting friends with similar hearts and bringing them together.

In the entrepreneurial space, I naturally became a bridge again. I can spend time visiting a variety of networking opportunities, bridging gaps, and connecting women that just need to know each other.

There is value of large, extensive networks that can cover a lot of ground and support people from far and wide. You get to be a part of something big, put their logo on your website, and know you are a DM away from anything you need to be connected to.

But, for me, these networks feel square. I can fit in when I need to, but I'm left feeling like I want more or that it could be so much better.

I wanted to find a place where I could belong.

So, I created my own space. A community where a friend walks in, and we all cheer that they have made the time to join us. We're excited for them to sit down, feel safe sharing their thoughts, support each other, and be "called out when they need to be because it comes from a place with their best interest at heart. The goal is to help each other succeed and grow together**."

We are creating a space with deep connection.

A community where people:

  • "value the women and their willingness to have difficult conversations.**"

  • "feel like they belong.**"

  • are "glad there is a space to listen deeply and build Community.**"

  • "don't want mediocre.**" ("And why would we settle for anything less when we know THIS exists?!**"

  • "give me the courage to step up when something was difficult and make a change.**"

We are a community that focuses on being human first.

I started Coffee Connection to create a safe space for women to connect with other like-minded women. I learned that we were looking for like-hearted women who want to have Curated Conversations.

When I asked the Chickbook Creative Community what our community meant to them, they responded with beautiful words such as:

Jamie Chapman

Oh, Hi! I’m Jamie Chapman

I’m a Small Business Consultant who recognizes you might do things a little bit differently, and I’m here for it. I help support small businesses in a wide variety of industries and have a special place in my heart for neurodiverse entrepreneurs and ADHD business owners.

If you find that you’re often dancing to the beat of a pen tapping against your desk instead of your own drum, I see you and get you. And I want you to keep on dancing.

I value getting to know the whole person as a business owner and taking a holistic, human view of their needs. I meet you where you’re at and support you in getting to where you want to go.

I love watching small business owners thrive and feel proud of what they’re building.

Founder and Owner of Chickbook Creative, I’ve gained years of career experience in systems, processes, accountability, leadership, and project management. I bring a multi-faceted approach to problem-solving and extensive knowledge of executive functioning, habit formation, and the neurodiverse and ADHD entrepreneur’s mind.

I see and understand the ADHD entrepreneur brain at work, and I'm passionate about supporting neurodivergent business owners in a way that lets them shine their light and bring their gifts to the world for all to see (and pay them for!).
